Kent Writers Group

The Kent Writers Group has been SUSPENDED until further notice.

Are you a woman writer in Northeast Ohio, looking for a writers group?

IWWG (International Women Writers Guild) has a "Kitchen Table" (fka Cluster) in Kent, Ohio. At this time, we would invite women writers to any of our scheduled sessions.

No portfolio or credits are necessary to join; the only requirement is that you are a woman with the desire to write! All genres and levels of experience are welcome. There are no dues at the local/regional level, all membership dues are paid directly to IWWG. You will find more information, as well as membership forms at: www.iwwg.com

About US (Kent group)

We meet the third Sunday of each month, (September through May) from 1:30 pm until 3:30 pm for our workshop/writing session followed by critique sessions (as needed) from approximately 4:30 pm until 6:00 pm. Currently we have 49 members.  We meet at the Women's Resource Center (click here for directions/map) unless noted otherwise in the schedule below.  The Center is on the main campus of Kent State University, Kent, Ohio. The center is located in the former carriage house behind the Williamson Alumni House (formerly the President's house) located on East Main Street, between the Music & Speech Building and where Terrace Hall used to be.

The entry IS NOT on Main Street. To enter, turn onto Midway Drive off of Main (some of you may remember this is where the "Arch" used to be) the entrance to the center is on the left. There are signs for Williamson Alumni and Women's Resource Center. Parking is generally not a problem on Sundays, but there are WRC signs indicating spots to use.

A heartfelt Thank You,  to the Women's Resource Center for your continued support and use of your wonderful facility!

If you would like more information, please email: writer@bigwits.com

Here are the scheduled dates and topics to be addressed.
Again, we meet the third Sunday of the Month. (*Exception)

This year at all our meetings we will be writing from prompts,

provided by a member of the group.  We will begin each meeting with

those who wish, reading (always optional participation) the "homework"

prompt assigned at the end of the previous meeting.
